Recently, it was learned from the Northwest Branch of State Grid Corporation of China that from July to August this year, a total of 523 million kWh of electricity was traded in the medium- and long-term inter-provincial transmission transactions from Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia to Anhui, etc., and all of them were achieved through carefully designed power transmission paths, including Qingyu DC and Three Gorges Hydropower Channel (Yihua, Linfeng, Genan, Longzheng DC), and precise control of switch cabinets, to achieve stable transmission of electric energy. In this process, the disconnector ensures the safe isolation and maintenance of the power grid when necessary, and the lightning arrester effectively resists the threat of natural disasters such as lightning to the transmission equipment.
In order to continuously expand the scale and efficiency of "West-to-East Power Transmission", the Northwest Branch of State Grid insists on multi-party coordination and cooperation. In the early stage, it went to the State Grid Central China Branch, State Grid Henan Power and other on-site investigations on the use of cross-provincial and cross-regional channels, deeply understood the factors affecting the transmission channels, and installed vacuum circuit breakers to improve the rapid response and isolation capabilities of the power grid. At the same time, together with the trading departments of the five northwestern provinces (autonomous regions), they closely tracked the progress of the inter-provincial trading plan, explored the transmission capacity of cross-regional and cross-provincial channels, and realized the flexible conversion and efficient transmission of voltage levels, especially under the optimized configuration of transformers.
The Northwest Branch of State Grid also cooperated with the trading and dispatching departments of various provinces (autonomous regions) to track the new production of new energy in the region, the changes in water inflow and power load in the river basin, and ensured the safe operation of the power grid under abnormal conditions through the rapid protection mechanism of the drop-out fuse. They increased the transmission of surplus new energy power and hydropower, and used the multi-channel combined power transmission mode to not only improve the utilization efficiency of multiple DC lines such as the Qinghai-Henan DC, but also further improve the signing rate of cross-regional medium- and long-term transactions in the northwest.
So far, the branch has used the multi-channel combined power transmission mode to carry out 41 transactions, achieving a total of 1.6 billion kWh of power transmission, greatly expanding the space for the consumption of new energy power in the Northwest Power Grid. In addition, in order to meet the green energy needs of the receiving areas, the State Grid Northwest Branch innovatively adopts a variety of trading products such as inter-provincial power generation rights trading and green electricity centralized bidding trading, and continues to deepen the electricity cooperation relationship between the northwestern provinces (autonomous regions) and the receiving provinces, fully responding to the clean substitution of thermal power and the purchase of green electricity, and helping the receiving provinces to smoothly complete the evaluation and assessment of the renewable energy consumption responsibility weight and energy-saving targets.
