On September 10, with the main transformer energized, the 500 kV transmission and transformation project of Zhangjiakou Bashang in the Jibei Power Grid was officially put into operation. The project is not only equipped with a number of key equipment, including main transformers and vacuum circuit breakers for controlling the on and off of current, but also equipped with isolating switches to ensure electrical isolation during maintenance, and lightning arresters to protect equipment from lightning.
The project started construction in March 2023, and three new 1200 MVA main transformers were built. These transformers are the core of the power system and are responsible for voltage conversion and power distribution. At the same time, a new Zhangnan-reconnected Bashang double-circuit 500 kV transmission line was built, with a path length of 46.5 kilometers. The line is equipped with drop-out fuses to automatically cut off the circuit in the event of a short circuit or overload to protect the safety of the entire line.
The 500 kV substation project in Bashang has advanced design, using the dynamic reactive power compensation device (SVG) voltage flexible dynamic regulation technology, as well as advanced digital, networked, information sharing and safety protection technology monitoring systems. In addition, the building adopts an assembled structure, and the guardhouse adopts a prefabricated cabin-type auxiliary room, which improves construction efficiency and safety.
The line has a tight corridor, many sensitive facilities, and many crossovers along the line. It needs to drill through the Zhangbei-Xiong'an 1000 kV line, the Zhangbei flexible ±500 kV line, and cross the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Expressway, the Beijing-Zhangjiakou High-speed Railway, and many important pipelines (lines). Faced with these challenges, the project design team fully carried forward the fine style of daring to fight, fearless of hardships, and hard work, overcame numerous difficulties, and successfully delivered high-quality design drawings on schedule, escorting the project to fully achieve the expected construction goals.
The completion and commissioning of the project has provided strong support for the high-quality development of the Zhangjiakou Renewable Energy Demonstration Zone, which not only increases the proportion of clean energy power consumption in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, but also provides stable and clean power supply support for the power demand of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei load center.
