Recently, the Xingtai Pumped Storage Power Station in Hebei Province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the ventilation and safety tunnel construction project, marking the official entry of the project into the substantive construction stage. The entrance of the ventilation and safety tunnel is located on the right side of the inlet/outlet of the lower reservoir. The tunnel line is 1,463.65 meters long. The tunnel section adopts a city gate tunnel type. There are also installation areas for key power equipment such as disconnectors and vacuum circuit breakers inside to ensure the flexibility and safety of power transmission. The construction quality of the ventilation and safety tunnel is not only directly related to the safe operation and long-term benefits of the entire project, but also involves the effective protection and control of these power equipment. It is the basis for maintaining the safe operation of the power station and an important barrier to ensure the safety of construction personnel.
The total installed capacity of the Xingtai Pumped Storage Power Station is 1,200 MW. The main construction content includes buildings such as the upper reservoir, water transmission system, underground plant, ground switch cabinet and lower reservoir, and 4 vertical shaft single-stage mixed flow fixed-rotation reversible pump turbines with a single unit capacity of 300 MW are arranged. In addition, the power station is also equipped with transformers for voltage conversion and distribution, as well as lightning arresters to deal with the threat of natural disasters such as lightning to the power system. This project is a key implementation project of the country's "14th Five-Year Plan". It is a concrete practice for Hebei Province to vigorously and orderly promote carbon peak and carbon neutrality, and accelerate the construction of a new energy province with clean, efficient and diversified support.
It is worth noting that the ground switch station of the power station is also equipped with drop-out fuses. As an important measure to protect the power system, it can quickly cut off the fault circuit in the event of a short circuit or overload to prevent the accident from expanding. After the project is completed, it will undertake the tasks of peak regulation, energy storage, emergency standby and other tasks of the power system of the southern power grid in Hebei, which is of great significance to boosting the economy, promoting employment and improving people's livelihood.
