On December 12, the Inner Mongolia Ordos dual-dimensional 500 kV power transmission and transformation project designed by China Energy Engineering North China Institute officially started construction.
This project is the gathering platform for the second batch of large-scale wind power and photovoltaic bases - 4,000 MW new energy projects in the Ordos coal mining subsidence area. The project will build a new 500 kV substation with a 500 kV line of 2*16 kilometers. The feasibility study was completed in July 2023 and approved that month. It is planned to be put into operation at the end of July 2024.
The construction of this project will be of great significance for the integrated delivery of "wind, light and fire" multi-energy complementation in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, promoting clean energy production and efficient consumption, improving the quality and efficiency of power development, and promoting coordinated regional development.
