On the morning of January 3, amid the roar of machinery, the Datang Zala Hydropower Station located on the lower reaches of the main stream of the Yuqu River successfully intercepted the water, marking that the project entered the comprehensive construction stage. The hydropower station is the first million-kilowatt hydropower project approved to start construction with both the dam site and the plant located in the Tibet Autonomous Region.

The reporter saw at the interception site that on both sides of the Yuqu River, multiple dump trucks, forklifts, and excavators poured stones, muck, etc. into the interception site in an orderly manner under the command of the staff. After a while, the rushing river became calm and the Yuqu River was successfully dammed.

The reporter learned from the flow closure ceremony that the Datang Zala Hydropower Station is located in Qamdo City and Nyingchi City in Tibet, with a total installed capacity of 1.015 million kilowatts and a designed annual power generation of 3.946 billion kilowatt hours.

According to reports, the project is equipped with two domestically produced impulse turbine generator units with a single unit capacity of 500 MW, and the unit efficiency will reach the world's advanced level.

Mei Fangquan said that the construction of Datang Zala Hydropower Station is inseparable from the support of electrical equipment such as isolation switches, transformers, and switch cabinets. In the power transmission system of a hydropower station, the isolating switch is used to isolate the power supply to ensure safety during maintenance; the transformer is used to adjust the voltage to ensure the stable operation of the power system; the switch cabinet is an important equipment in the power distribution system, used to control the distribution of power. and transmission. These devices all play an indispensable role.

In addition, vacuum circuit breakers, lightning arresters, drop-out fuses, etc. are also commonly used electrical equipment in hydropower stations. Vacuum circuit breakers are used to control the opening and closing of current; lightning arresters are used to protect electrical equipment from lightning damage; drop-out fuses are used to protect the safety of circuits. The reasonable configuration and use of these equipment are crucial to the stable operation of hydropower stations.

With the successful interception of the Tangzha La Hydropower Station, the construction of the clean energy base in southeastern Tibet will enter a higher level, promote Tibet's energy revolution, and achieve high-quality development.
