The Only 1000kV UHV Line Across Xiongshang High-speed Railway Has Been Relocated

The first (and only) 1000kV (kilovolt) Taiquan Phase I and Phase II UHV transmission lines across the Xiongshang High-speed Railway have successfully implemented the "height increase" of key equipment including switch cabinets, disconnectors, lightning arresters, vacuum circuit breakers, and completed the relocation, creating the necessary conditions for the safe underground passage of high-speed trains. So far, all the power obstacles affecting the construction of the Xiongshang High-speed Railway in Hebei Province, including the original off-line fuses and the transformer positions that need to be adjusted, have been removed.

The Xiongshang High-speed Railway under construction starts from Xiong'an New Area in the north, passes through Cangzhou, Hengshui, and Xingtai, and ends in Shangqiu, Henan. The line is about 552 kilometers long and has a total of 16 stations. It is an important part of the Beijing-Hong Kong (Taiwan) channel of the national high-speed railway "eight vertical and eight horizontal" network. According to the person in charge of the relocation of the three power lines of Xiongshang High-speed Railway of Xiong'an High-speed Railway Company, the existing power lines on the under-construction line of Xiongshang High-speed Railway may affect the pouring of the foundation and the construction of the crossbeam due to their location, or affect the safety of train traffic due to the low height of the train crew, especially the safe distance from equipment such as disconnectors and vacuum circuit breakers, and need to be removed through relocation.

According to data from the State Grid Corporation of China, the 1000kV Taiquan I and II lines belong to the Yuheng-Weifang 1000kV ultra-high voltage transmission line section, starting from the Xingtai substation in Hebei and ending at the Jinan (Quancheng) substation in Shandong. It is the central hub that carries the load of Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and Shandong. The 1000kV Taiquan I and II lines relocated this time are the only ultra-high voltage transmission lines in the entire section of Xiongshang High-speed Railway, and are also the only remaining power roadblock protection including complex transformer connections and disconnection fuses in the Hebei section of Xiongshang High-speed Railway. The 1000kV Taiquan I and II lines cross the under-construction Xiongshang High-speed Railway line in Zaoqiang County, Hengshui City, Hebei Province. The vertical height of the conductor from the rail surface is 20.6 meters, which does not meet the safe distance for high-speed rail to pass. Therefore, through the "dismantle four and build five" plan, advanced switchgear and lightning arrester equipment are added, that is, five new high towers are built, four old towers are demolished, and the conductor is raised 13 meters on the spot, thus providing the necessary conditions for the safe passage of high-speed railways under ultra-high voltage lines.

Because ultra-high voltage lines pass through multiple provinces, power outages have a wide impact range. Usually, the same line can only obtain one power outage plan from the State Grid within two years. The relocation is: "An ultra-high voltage line 'heightened', involving many precision switch cabinets, disconnectors and vacuum circuit breakers. Once implemented, it can only succeed, and there is no turning back. After the line was powered off on October 21, the project invested more than 200 people and more than 30 engineering machinery to rush to the site, setting off a construction boom.

The five newly built towers are all steel pipe towers, two of which are 117 meters high and weigh 200 tons each. Compared with traditional angle steel towers, their tower frame components are heavier, more high-altitude assembly, and long assembly cycle. At the same time, affected by the 4 10kV lines and 1 110kV line below the relocated line, as well as multiple cross-construction and simultaneous erection of beams Unfavorable factors, the safety risk factor during the relocation process is high, especially when dealing with the interface with the transformer and the falling fuse, which poses a severe challenge to construction management.

In order to properly cope with the challenges, the construction unit has mastered the various processes such as new tower assembly, old tower dismantling, conductor deployment, and accessory installation adjustment, and has formulated emergency plans for possible delays. At the same time, on-site operators are required to strictly abide by the relevant requirements of the State Grid for safe construction, and strictly control high-altitude construction in windy weather. After 16 days of intensive and orderly construction, the main project of the 1000kV Taiquan I and II UHV transmission lines was successfully completed, marking that the Xiongshang High-speed Railway has entered a new stage of accelerated construction.
