On December 23, the Tianjin Dagang 500 kV line project was successfully electrified.
This project is located in Binhai New Area of Tianjin City and is one of the key construction projects of the "Top Ten Projects" in the construction of a beautiful "Bincheng". The project started with the 500 kV structure of the 1,000 kV Tianjin Nante High Voltage Station and ended with the new No. 84 Tower. The path length is 2×35.11 kilometers, with 85 new towers, including 50 double-circuit linear towers, 34 double-circuit corner towers, and 1 double-circuit terminal tower, involving 14 important crossings.
During the execution of the project, a variety of electrical equipment was used. For example, a transformer is installed at the 500 kV structure of the initial UHV station to convert high voltage into low voltage to meet electricity demand. Isolating switches and switch cabinets are used between pole towers to ensure the safety and reliability of the circuit. Where current needs to be controlled, vacuum circuit breakers or drop-out fuses are installed to cut off the current when necessary. In addition, lightning arresters are also installed at appropriate locations to protect lines from natural disasters such as lightning.
It is reported that after the project is put into operation, it will provide reliable power for key industrial projects such as the national key petrochemical project "Big Ethylene" in Tianjin Nangang Industrial Zone and LNG for Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei gas. By using these electrical equipment, this project has effectively improved the power receiving capacity, transmission capacity and power supply guarantee capability of Tianjin Power Grid. At the same time, this project is of great significance in accelerating the construction of the 500 kV expanded ring network in southeastern Tianjin, supporting the integration of offshore wind power into Tianjin's 500 kV power grid in Nangang's "14th Five-Year Plan", and promoting the integration and consumption of clean energy.
