"Start transmitting power!" Recently, following the order of Chen Chao, the third value chief of the 1,000 kV UHV Hongshan substation, the isolating switches and vacuum circuit breakers in the switch cabinet of the Ehong II line operated one after another, and the line successfully transmitted power. This important move marks the official launch of the "West-to-East Power Transmission" channel adjustment project in Shanxi in 2024.

The reporter learned from the State Grid Shanxi Electric Power Company on February 26 that in order to ensure the stable operation of the UHV lines, the maintenance work of the above lines has been fully launched. This inspection focused on comprehensive inspection and maintenance of key equipment such as switch cabinets, isolating switches, vacuum circuit breakers, lightning arresters, drop-out fuses, etc. It was designed to cooperate with the "West-to-East Power Transmission" infrastructure renovation project and to adjust the "West-to-West Power Transmission" project in North China. Make technical preparations for the "East-to-East" channel project.

The "West-to-East Power Transmission" channel adjustment project in the Shanxi section mainly connects the Beiyue and Hongshan ultra-high voltage stations to the Shanxi 500 kV power grid, and also unblocks the 1000/500 kV power grid between Shanxi and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei power grid. The electromagnetic ring network adjusts the original four "network-to-network" west-to-east electricity transmission channels between Shanxi and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei into a more efficient "point-to-network" mode. Through these two UHV stations, the surplus power in the Shanxi grid will be collected and transported to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, further leveraging the role of the "two horizontal" UHV channels in North China and effectively alleviating the increasingly severe power shortage in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. situation.

In order to ensure the smooth progress of the transformation work, State Grid Shanxi Ultra-High Voltage Substation Company organized expert teams to conduct on-site inspections and meetings for many times, and conducted in-depth analysis of switch cabinets, isolating switches, vacuum circuit breakers, lightning arresters, drop-out fuses and transformers, etc. The operating status and technical requirements of key equipment. After fully assessing various risks, the company formulated a detailed maintenance and operation plan and strictly implemented it in accordance with the plan. Finally, the phased transformation work was completed as scheduled.

The relevant person in charge of the State Grid Shanxi Electric Power Company stated that it is expected that the adjustment project of the "West-to-East Power Transmission" channel in North China will be fully completed and officially put into operation before the peak summer season in 2024. By then, the transmission power flow of the UHV channel will increase from 10.72 million kilowatts before the transformation to 14.5 million kilowatts, the UHV power flow will increase by 35%, and the maximum single-channel power flow will increase to 8 million kilowatts. This will enable Shanxi to send an additional 3,800 megawatts of power to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, further improving the stability and reliability of the important power transmission channel of the "West-to-East Power Transmission". At the same time, by optimizing the operation strategy of key equipment such as transformers, the power supply capacity and efficiency of Shanxi Power Grid will be further improved, providing strong support for the sustainable development of the local economy.
