According to different switch types, there are external shielded ceramic vacuum arc extinguishing chambers, intermediate sealed cup shaped longitudinal magnetic field miniaturized vacuum arc extinguishing chambers, and internal sealed glass bubble arc extinguishing chambers. Their basic structures are as follows:
① Airtight insulation system (casing)
The airtight insulation system composed of a ceramic, glass or microcrystalline glass airtight insulation cylinder, a moving end cover plate, a fixed end cover plate, and a stainless steel corrugated pipe is a vacuum sealed container. In order to ensure airtightness, in addition to strict operating procedures in the sealing type, it is also required that the material itself has breathability and a small amount of internal air release.
② Conductive system
It is composed of a fixed conducting rod, a fixed running curved surface, a fixed contact, a moving contact, a moving running curved surface, and a moving conducting rod. There are roughly three types of contact structures: cylindrical contacts, transverse magnetic field contacts with spiral grooves and curved surfaces, and longitudinal magnetic field contacts. At present, longitudinal magnetic field technology is used, and this type of arc extinguishing chamber has strong and stable arc breaking ability.
③ Shielding system
The shielding cover is an indispensable component in the vacuum arc extinguishing chamber, and there are various types of shielding covers, such as the main shielding cover surrounding the contact, the corrugated tube shielding cover, and the pressure equalization shielding cover. The function of the main shielding cover is to prevent arc products from splashing onto the inner wall of the insulation shell during the arc burning process, thereby reducing the insulation strength of the shell. Improving the uniformity of the electric field distribution inside the arc extinguishing chamber is beneficial for reducing local field strength and promoting the miniaturization of the vacuum arc extinguishing chamber. Condensation of arc products can absorb a portion of arc energy, which helps to restore the strength of the gap medium after the arc.
Operating mechanism
The operating mechanism used varies depending on the type of circuit breaker. The commonly used operating mechanisms include spring operating mechanism, CD10 electromagnetic operating mechanism, CD17 electromagnetic operating mechanism, CT19 spring energy storage operating mechanism, and CT8 spring energy storage operating mechanism.
